Bad blogger. Bad, bad blogger!
OK, it's come to my attention that I've been a naughty blogger lately, hardly any updates and very few pictures. Well, all I can say is I'm sorry and life has a habit of being crazy and interfering with my computer time.
Our first Christmas with the tots was really, really nice. We opened presents at home, napped and then travelled to Jeff's parents' house (1/2 hour away) for dinner and more gift opening.
The day after Christmas, we made a quick trip to see my parents and "little sister" in NY. Little sister "C" was born on Christmas Day oh, how many years ago?! Dad looks great and is doing remarkably well for having just finished 6 weeks of chemo and radiation (radiation was constant for the 6 weeks, but chemo was only the first and last weeks). He had almost NO side effects during treatment, but is now having a burning sensation in his esophagus. Follow-up scans and consults are scheduled in January and we will hope, pray, and wish that he has done really well. I loved watching him interact with the tots, trying to teach them how to snap their fingers, showing him all the little trinkets he has on his table next to his archie bunker chair, etc.
We also visited Grand-Nana at the nursing home and she looks great! She was all decked out in Christmas sweater and socks, and she and the staff and other residents made a happy fuss over Cassie & Carter. The tots handled the ride up & back (6 hours) better than we could have hoped, and all together did really well.
We're almost finished taking down our decorations (well, Jeff is, anyway!) and we're ready to ring in the New Year, if we can stay up that late.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE, I hope that my friends still struggling to start or build their families are successful this year - you've all waited much, much too long.
Speedy, non-dramatic adoption wishes to all who are travelling that path, and to all my "normal" friends and family, peace & health & prosperity to you all!
