Lame, I'm lame! I know it, you know it.
Hi there! Sorry to be gone so long from here, life has been busy. We made a quick trip to NY to see my parental units, Dad is still (knock wood, hopefully for good) cancer free, but he had a mild heart attack! They still don't really know why, he has no blockage, heart looks good, etc. Anyhoo, we zipped up after he got out of the hospital and had a really nice visit.
We stopped by the nursing home to see my grandmother (Nana), and she is doing great, too. Carter did his cute "googly eyes" thing to her, she loved it. This is a phenomenon where Carter looks at a woman (can be a girl, middle aged woman, elderly woman, doesn't matter!) then looks away, then looks back over his shoulder while tilting his head and smiling. It pretty much could melt the hardest heart, and every woman he's done it to has swooned.
Cassandra spontaneously began jumping in Nana's room, just like that! She's been practicing her jumps ever since, and she's encouraged Carter to try jumping as well. Hey, anything that tires them out enough to nap and go to sleep at a decent hour at night, is okay in my book. The tots thoroughly enjoyed seeing their cousins S and L again, they played really nicely together.
It's hard to believe they are now 17 months old! Doing great physically, they're not saying too much yet, but babbling and occasionally trying to prounounce something. Cassie will "learn" a word and then get bored of it - the first time she said "Carter!" we praised her and clapped. So she did it for a few days and then hasn't said it since. Fickle tots!

In case clicking the thumbnails above doesn't take you to my picture site (thanks, T, for telling me about the problem, not sure what is going on!), here are a few of my faves:

I'm so glad to hear that your Dad is doing well, but very sorry about the heart attack.
It's great to see new pics of the tots. We'll have to get together again soon!! Cassie will have to teach Grayson how to jump. He bends his knees, but refuses to get off the ground.

I LOVE how in that one video Cass just leans over and yanks on Carter's chair and pulls him over!!
OMG, they seriously get cuter every time I check your blog. The one of them with Ronald McD is hilarious! I'm glad your dad is doing better and I hope things improve quickly with his new cardiac issues.
