Nocturnus Horibilus
That's Wile E. Coyote-speak for WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING TO MY TOTS' SLEEPING HABITS?! We had their 6-month checkup on Monday, and their doc told us to start solid foods. Monday evening they had rice cereal and applesauce, and we had a tough, tough night. We attributed that to their immunization shots, so Tuesday evening, they had their cereal and fruit again, and holy guacamole, they were even MORE nightmarish! Cassie wouldn't go to sleep, would cry in the swing, would only calm down if we held her. Ugh, she didn't go to sleep until 11 p.m.! Carter woke up several times, and he had been sleeping throught the night for weeks on end! We did start him on 1/2 nutramigen, 1/2 regular formula, per doc's instructions, so that could be why he went haywire. Anyway, Wednesday night was more of the same, Cassie was a screaming, hollering nightmare until I bored her to sleep by rocking her in front of the window while looking at fireflies in the back yard.

So today, we switched their one meal to lunch time, and skipped the rice cereal for Cassie, just to see if they do better tonight. They were both asleep at 7:00 p.m., we'll see if they stay that way! In the meantime, I need to catch some zzzzzzzz's!

Erica, I don't know how you've done it! I'm worn out w/ my little Savanna Bananna. Life w/o sleep is NO fun. Can someone come over for a few hours so you can get some sleep? What about trying oatmeal for a little bit w/o the applesauce? Applesauce upset Savanna's tum tum too.
And, this too WILL pass. Hang in there, my friend. You are doing a swell job!
The Tots? They are adorable, just precious.
Yikes! hope they soon return to the land of good sleepers. Of course, they are so cute...why would you want them to sleep?? oh yeah...for your SANITY.
Dominic's sleeping has been crazy too. He screamed until 3 am last night . . . he would only calm down in our bed or in my arms. We even took him to the doctor because we were worried. There is nothing wrong . . . just silly TEETH coming in!!! Yikes! Hang in there . . . I really admire you guys! Like Betsy said, I don't know how you do it!
OH NO. Did Miss Emma send it their way from whattamala?
how funny that in a few years we'll look back fondly upon rocking them etc and not even RECALL the sleepless nights.
